The Bay at Midnight was a longer book than I usually read, although it kept me interested and completely entertained from cover to cover.

This book is much deeper than your normal chick lit or beach read, but not too intellectual. A story filled with family secrets that eek out slowly enough not to ruin the plausible twist ending/5.

I really enjoyed The Bay at Midnight, the 2nd Diane Chamberlain book I have read (The Lost Daughter also a great read!). The story was really absorbing and I found myself really drawn to the characters.

The writing style was great - the chapters interchanged between the past and the present and different characters were speaking in different /5(). Midnight is such a strong & powerful character who evokes much emotion, value & honesty. Although he is only 14 you would many a time think him much older. Sister Souljah has done it again for me.

Coldest winter was great but this novel really appeals to me as Midnight is talking from a completely different perspective which is /5().

/5(22). Wavered really hard on how to rate this book, what I wanted to say and how I felt about it.I must say I found myself reading it but not really enjoying it--Honestly I found myself annoyed and appalled at the stereotypes, the cultural and religious bias, the arrogance and unbelivable aspect of the main character: the oh so worldly and mature "Midnight" and the lack of positive African /5.

Mom and I spread one of our two blankets out on the sand beneath it, not far from where the bay water lapped softly at the beach, and Lucy instantly sat down on it, the tube still glued to her body. She sat cross-legged, opened her book and began to read.4/5(32). Midnight is a novel by American writer Dean Koontz.

Oh, midnight on the bay. Sure feels good to me. What's this I see There's someone comin' Walkin' right up to me She tells me I know your name And if it's all the same I'd like to spend some time.

And midnight on the bay Sure feels good to me. And now it's midnight on the bay Lights are shinin' On the sailboats that sway In the cool ocean breeze. Overall, Midnight really impressed me. The creatures are violent, the people in Moonlight Cove are sadistic, the heroes are inspiring, the main villan is one of Koontz's best, and the book creates a giant conspiracy because no one in the town can be trusted.

This book's oustanding mix of horror, suspense, and paranoia makes it a treat to read.5/5(5). The current was lazy, probably on its way to slack tide, but it was still pulling in the direction of the bay, and the water sparkled with phosphorescent jellyfish.

I’d seen that glittery display of light before, but not yet this summer, and I decided it was a good sign, for no reason other than that I needed to think positively about what 4/5(32).
